2020 Salem BGC Awards Celebration

The Club's 2020 Annual Awards Celebration Breakfast will be a “virtual” event celebrated on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020. Friends & family of our award winners, as well as the community, will be able to watch our award presentations at 8 am on our Boys & Girls Facebook page or on SCTV-17 (SCTV17.com). This event recognizes contributions made by members of the community for their outstanding service, dedication and commitment on behalf of our Club and community. 2020 Award Winners This year, the following local businesses and individuals will be honored for their support and dedication: Arthur & Marilyn Klemm of Klemm’s Family Stores will receive the Richard P. McCoy Service Award for outstanding support, service and commitment to the Club. Jim & Sue Desjardins of Daisy Cleaners will receive the Richard P. McCoy Service Award for outstanding support, service and commitment to the Club. Sheryl “Scotty” Scott, Aquatics Director of BGCGS will receive the Ann R. Lally Stewardship Award for her dedication and service to the Club. Damon & Melanie Norcross will receive the Marketing & Communications Award for their commitment to promoting the Club and its mission. Christopher Nicoli will be presented with the Man of the Year Award. His service, support and dedication has made the greatest impact on the success of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem. Aaron Shamshoyan will be honored as the Volunteers of the Year for his outstanding volunteer service with the auction & Club IT. Ken Schulz will be recognized by the Board President for his efforts on behalf of the Club. He will receive the President’s Award. Sandra Whittaker will receive the BE GREAT Award for an individual for her outstanding dedication and commitment to our Club’s Girl Power Program which she created. Canobie Lake Park will receive the BE GREAT Award for a group for their outstanding dedication and commitment to our Club’s events and programming. 2020 Educator of the Year Award will be presented to Kimberly DiZazzo, Lancaster School, for her exceptional dedication, knowledge and inspiration. 2020 Firefighter of the Year will be presented to Shane Murphy for his exceptional service and dedication. 2020 Police Officer of the Year will be presented to Michael Geha for exceptional community service and professional achievement.
